The one thing we cannot do a thing about, that effects us so much, is the weather itself. Thunderstorms rumble outside and I feel like I have been run over by a truck. No rain yet though, more is the pity, for two reasons. One, we need the rain, South Texas has been in drought for mts now and two, when it finally does rain, I will feel better. Now I know why the past few days I have been doing the up all night and feeling miserable.
It’s the barometric pressure you see. Just before a storm, it hops around like a frog on a hot plate, and as anyone with arthritis or other joint issues can tell you, ( which is most of us with FM ) such weather makes the joints scream.Which the FM then grabs and cranks up the level of pain to the point where some days like this, nothing even works !
But it’s not the rain or even the cold that does us in the most, it’s the pressure changes. It is like the sudden pressure shifts when going up and down in an airplane, only your body is having to withstand that, for hours or even days at a time.
Once it starts to rain, the pressure will stabilize more and the pain ease up a bit, but until then, all you can do is hang on, and grit your teeth, as every joint and muscle you have, does this mad dance to the weathers tune.
Hoping it rains soon…
